Parent-child coding and robotics course

Are you confused about robotics for your children? Don't know where to start or how to help? You may feel overwhelmed by the options available. Would the kids find it too challenging, leading to frustration and a sense of defeat?

Our Parent–Child Coding & Robotics Course invites parents and their children (ages 8 and up) to explore technology together. In just one hands-on session, you’ll discover the joy coding your very own robot using the fun and beginner-friendly Jitterbit. The kids will have a lot of fun and so will you!

JITTER WHAAAA??

You will have the opportunity to use the JitterBit robot to program. It is the first member of our XO Series. From fun dance moves to getting frightened by a clap of the hands, this little guy will ensure hours of entertainment, and hey, he might teach you a thing or two!

🎓 What You’ll Learn:

In this course, we teach you how to code using the Microsoft MakeCode platform.

Instead of typing complicated code, you build a program by dragging blocks (like puzzle pieces) on your screen.

Each block does something, like “move forward,” “repeat,” or “play a sound.” You just drag the blocks into a sequence, and they snap together to create instructions for your robot.

It is exactly what is used in classrooms, except this time, you upload it to a robot and see your code come to life!

But how do we make the robot dance with the code?

By using the microbit.

A MicroBit is the robot's brain that you can use to learn coding.

It has little lights (LEDs), buttons and sensors. You tell it what to do by using easy, drag-and-drop coding on your computer or phone. Then it follows your instructions!

It's perfect for beginners, especially kids, who want to start learning how technology works.

Who It’s For

  • No previous experience needed, just curiosity and teamwork
  • Perfect for moms, dads, grannies, uncles, everyone’s welcome!

Investment: R500 per duo

Includes all materials, robot use, and a memorable shared experience.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about robotics. It’s about quality time, laughter, and learning something new as a team. When a child sees their parent engaged and excited, they gain more than knowledge, they gain confidence.

Join us and build more than a robot, build a bond.
